Newsworthy Olympic Moment: Lisa Carrington's 3 Golds!

New Zealand's Lisa Carrington wins her third gold medal of the Tokyo Olympics.

This is Lisa Carrington, in her third gold medal race at the canoe sprint in the Tokyo Olympics. This Gold has meant that she is NZ's most successful women at the Olympics ever.

I watched nervously as she sailed passed everyone yesterday.

I think she deserved those three golds to add to her tally, hopefully she will be in the next Olympics(:

What was your favorite Olympic moment this year?

Pompeii Eruption Chariot

Today we did some questions about a Carriage discovered in the ruins of Pompeii from when the mountain Erupted in 79AD.

We had to work out what we thought this artefact was.  Then we read the article and had a class debate.

Our big question was should artifacts stay where they were found or be moved somewhere else.

I think they should stay where they are found because they will get damaged if you move them.  It is respectful of the history if you leave them where they are.

What do you think

Spain flag

 Which

The flag of Spain, as it is defined in the Spanish Constitution of 1978, consists of three horizontal stripes: red, yellow and red; the yellow stripe being twice the size of each red stripe. Traditionally, the middle stripe was defined by the more archaic term of gualda, and hence the popular name la Rojigualda. The origin of the current flag of Spain is the naval ensign of 1785, Pabellón de la Marina de Guerra under Charles III of Spain. It was chosen by Charles III himself among 12 different flags designed by Antonio Valdés y Bazán (all proposed flags were presented in a drawing which is in the Naval Museum of Madrid).
